Choosing a university
What are the best courses for Arab students in Malaysia?
By Zawqari Education team · Last updated 27 Oct 2026
There is no single best course. These are the fields students ask us about most, each with the reason they tend to choose it and what to check first: psychology, IT and computer science, business, early childhood education, engineering, and health fields such as nursing and pharmacy.
How to choose
- Start with your goal: work in Malaysia, return home, or study further.
- Check recognition in your home country before choosing (see the recognition answer). This matters most for education, health and engineering, where the home country often has its own rules.
- Check the entry route. If you have only high school, start with a foundation or diploma.
- Compare total tuition, not yearly figures, and check English score requirements. IT degrees at City University ask for IELTS 6.0 while its psychology and early childhood programmes ask for a lower score. Ask us for the exact score for your course.
- Choose the city: Kuala Lumpur and Selangor have the most choice and higher costs.
Examples on our site: Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) and Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) at City University Malaysia, and Foundation in Computer Science at UNITEN.
