Malaysia has dozens of private universities, and the right choice depends on your subject, budget and where you want to live. This guide gives an overview of the universities currently on Zawqari Education and the questions worth asking before you decide.
What to compare
- The subject: some universities are stronger in particular fields.
- The total cost: compare the full programme fee, not the yearly fee.
- The location: Kuala Lumpur city life, a quieter campus town, or somewhere in between.

Asia Pacific University (APU)
APU has one campus in Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Its programmes on Zawqari Education cover computing, IT, cyber security, data science, games technology, business, finance, accounting and actuarial studies, from certificates to PhD.
UCSI University
UCSI has its main campus in Kuala Lumpur, with further campuses in Kuching, Sarawak and Bandar Springhill, Port Dickson. Its range is broad: biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, business, music and performing arts, hospitality, culinary arts, architecture, education and mass communication.
Multimedia University (MMU)
MMU has campuses in Cyberjaya, Selangor and Melaka. It is known for engineering, IT and computing, artificial intelligence and robotics, creative multimedia and cinematic arts, and also offers business, accounting and law.
City University Malaysia
City University's main campus is in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, with further campuses in Cyberjaya and Johor Bahru. Its faculties include business, creative industries, education, architecture, IT, allied health sciences, engineering, hospitality and nursing.
