Choosing a university

Is a Malaysian degree recognised in Arab countries?

By Zawqari Education team · Last updated 27 Oct 2026

Recognition is decided by the education ministry of your own country, not by Malaysia and not by us. The safe path is to choose a university and programme that are accredited in Malaysia, have your certificate attested, and ask your ministry to confirm before you enrol.

What to do

  • Check that the programme is accredited. Search the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR) run by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). A programme listed there is registered in Malaysia.
  • Ask your country's ministry of higher education, before you pay, whether it accepts the programme and what it needs (for example transcripts, a study-duration record, or a passport entry stamp showing time in Malaysia).
  • After you graduate, the certificate is normally verified in Malaysia, authenticated by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attested by your country's embassy in Kuala Lumpur, then submitted to your ministry. The exact order differs by country.
  • Keep every original document, including transcripts and your passport.

What we do not say: we do not promise that any degree will be accepted in a specific country, and we do not guess national rules.
